I believe last week I could be found oogling pictures on the internet and blabbing on about how beautiful the desert is. Right? Well, I take everything I said back! It is just too dang hot.
And although I am completely embarrassed to share this post with you, I think it’s one that may make some of my fellow Arizonans chuckle.
Have you ever taken an inspirational photo and decided on trying to make it work in your own home? Over at Antique Plaza we do this all the time! So when I came across this breathtaking photo on Pinterest I just couldn’t stay away from it all winter.
How cute is this? I love the vintage, home-grown feel it brings. I began collecting galvanized tins, buckets, watering cans at the Plaza and was ready to have a replica set up in my front yard. I went to Home Depot and purchased $50 worth of plants, flowers, potting soil, etc. with no actual clue as to what I was doing (I’m good at many things but gardening is definitely not one of them!)
A few weeks in and what does my project look like?………..
Dead, everything DEAD! Why I would plant flowers in the middle of the summer in AZ, I just don’t know. I’m pretty sure my neighbors hate me for making them look at this everyday.
Do any of you have any epic fails you’d like to share with me? It would make me feel a whole lot better! Any tips on how I can fix this catastrophe??
Stay cool everyone, unlike my dear plant friends here.
