Last Christmas…

It’s officially December! Time to turn on the Christmas music and start decorating the house! I know that’s what I’ll be spending my weekend doing :)

In the meantime, I thought I would share a few pictures from last year’s Christmas. It was my first time EVER hosting it at my house, and it ended up being one of the best Christmases I’ve ever had.

The theme was rustic comfort. I wanted to create an atmosphere where my family felt at like they could just snuggle up by and relax. I began with a bold red, green and blue plaid blanket from the shop and used it as a tablecloth. I used the colors as a jumping off point for the entire theme. Then I used sticks, pine needles, fruit, flowers, nuts and candles to create a centerpiece on a two-tiered tray I also purchased at the plaza.

My mom started collecting Christmas nutcrackers last year so I wanted to incorporate that into the theme. I pulled out my good China and placed 6 different nutcrackers on each guest’s plate next to a homemade name tag. (By the way, don’t those deviled eggs look just divine? My Grandma is the best cook!)

 {Vintage sleds instantly bring a touch of Christmas nostalgia to a front entryway. We have a few more like this one for sale at the shop!}

{I live for beautifully wrapped presents. This patriotic present was created by my boyfriend, Ricky. Stay tuned for a fun post on unexpected things to wrap your presents with this Christmas!}

{My family and I on Christmas}

My tree was decorated with a mixture of family ornaments that have been passed down throughout the years and vintage ornaments that I’ve collected from the Antique Plaza. *Side note: Has anyone else noticed how difficult it is to get a good photo of a Christmas tree? Pictures just don’t do those precious vintage ornaments justice!!

The Merry Christmas garland and pine cone garland are from Target (I’m always there at the crack of dawn on Dec. 26th to get the deals!) and I made the bows out of vintage plaid ribbon from the Antique Plaza.

Last year’s Christmas was amazing, but I challenged myself with a new theme this year! I can’t wait to show you when it’s all finished! Happy decorating :)
